When my old Dell XP laptop crashed under the weight of my families accumulated viruses I figured I’d take a chance on Ubuntu. It worked perfectly the first time. It found and connected to the DSL and printer, came with all the software I needed and no crippled demos. I’m sold.

@preethamkate – What version of Ubuntu are you using? 8.04 (LTS) or some other version?

**MAKE SURE you have a backup of ALL VALUABLE DATA that you WANT TO KEEP, BEFORE trying to fix this issue.**

Have you tried to resolve unmet dependencies using the following command in terminal?

apt-get -f install

The above command will “force” install (or it at least that’s what I understand) missing dependencies.

when ever i login to my laptop which got ubuntu in it, i can see a red alert on the up right corner.when i move the cursor to it i can see the message as “(An error occurred,please run Package Manager from the right-click menu or apt-get in a terminal to see what is wrong.The error message was:’Error:Opening the cache(E:Malformed line 49 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list(URI parse),E:The list of sources could not be read.)’This usually means that your installed packages have unmet dependencies”.

After clicking on that red alert i can see update manager opened but even that it is stating as “Could not initialize the package information” a problem occurred..

could you please help me in resolving this.thanks in advance

@ChandiPreetham D – I took a quick look and it appears that the developers failed to support Linux? (At least I couldn’t see support for it). Because the developer does not appear to support Linux, I then headed over to WINE and found this: http://appdb.winehq.org/appvie.....AppId=4071 Seems that the game rating is listed as “Garbage” on the WINE site. Also, some install instructions are here: http://appdb.winehq.org/object.....p;iId=6224 – However some users have indicated that the game does not run after a successful install.

i have only linux Ubuntu 8.04 in my laptop and i dont have any XP in it…i would like to know does NFS Carbon Game can be played in Ubuntu Linux…If that so could you please tell me the procedure so that i can play that game in my laptop…as i like games very much and i hate that playing in XP…will be waiting for your reply…thanks in advance….
