This is an excelleent KDE based re-work of Ubuntu that works where as kubuntu doesn't. Uses stable and reliable KDE 3.5.10 http://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=28 Other than that omission, and excellent list and a few I want to check out especially the forensic ones. It’s really hard to answer when we cannot see your system, but… Here are some ideas that may steer you in the right direction:
